Biografía

Julie Walters debutó en el teatro en 1980 protagonizando la obra de Willy Russell Educando a Rita, por la que obtuvo el Premio de la Crítica a la mejor actriz nobel. En 1983 participó en su adaptación al cine, junto a Michael Caine, por la que ganó el premio BAFTA a la mejor actriz, un Globo de Oro y una nominación al Oscar.

Por su actuación en la obra de Sam Shepard Loco de amor, estrenada en el National Theatre de Londres, fue nominada a un Olivier, premio que obtuvo por su papel en la obra de Arthur Miller Todos mis hijos, también en el National Theatre.

Julie Walters es muy conocida por sus apariciones televisivas junto a la actriz cómica Victoria Woods, junto a la que participó en la serie ganadora de un BAFTA Dinnerladies.
